Public Oregon & Utah License ClassesWe provide both on-line and off-line Oregon Concealed Handgun License Classes. All of Oregon Concealed's instructors are certified to teach pistol safety by the NRA (National Rifle Association). Off-line classes are taught as a regular part of our curriculum. They are open to the general paying public who meet the requirements for obtaining a concealed handgun license in Oregon. The applicant has to be 21 years of age to get an Oregon Handgun License. Younger people can take the class for the benefit of the safety training. Their certification qualifies them for the concealed handgun license when they reach the age of 21. Also important in this process is that the applicant does not have a disqualifying background such as certain misdemeanors or felonies. For more information concerning qualifications go to your local county sheriff's office website www.oregonsheriffs.org and click on your county in the state map dialog on the left side (Note: Not all counties have concealed handgun licensing information) or you can go to our Resource link for more information. We provide an additional component to our classes not taught in most other classes. Don Leach is a retired attorney who represented gun issues with both misdemeanor and felony defendants. We teach the practical aspect of Oregon Laws that will help keep most licensed handgun carriers from confrontations with police and other enforcement officers. Utah License ClassesAll Utah handgun licensing classes are required by Utah statute to be taught live and in person by a Utah Bureau of Criminal Identification (UBCI) Certified Instructor. We call that “the talking head” format. Utah dictates the outline and material presented. We provide those classes throughout the state of Oregon and have business relationships with other instructors who teach out-of-state. In our class we do all of the administrative things required to obtain the Utah license. Included:
